The Caddo Mills High School Mock Trial team recently competed in Dallas at
the Regional Championships. The competition was held at the Dallas County
Courthouse and was sponsored by Region 10. The team competes three different
times during the day against other schools. They must be able to present a case
from both the plaintiff and defendant points of view. They must be thoroughly
prepared.
The student’s first round was against AAAAA Richardson Pearce. The students were
nervous at first but held their own against tough competition. They gained
valuable experience to be used for later rounds. The team competed against
district rival Irving North Hills in the second round. They clearly won this
competition as they gained more and more confidence throughout the trial. Their
third round in the afternoon was against
Dallas Christian High School.
Team members included attorneys Ashley Davidson, Will White, and Austin
Davidson. Witnesses the for the competition included Emily Hammack, Chelsea
Holcomb, Kaitlyn Coker, Natalie Shaddox, and Brad Lutrick. This years coach and
sponsor is Caddo Mills High School teacher and Hunt County Attorney Jerry Card.
