BOARD HIGHLIGHTS

The Board enjoyed a presentation from Caddo Mills ISD’s new art teacher, Mr. Jeff Jaco.  Mr. Jaco displayed art work recently completed by Caddo Mills High School and Middle School art students and discussed the historical and cultural significance of the art technique. 

 

The Board approved a change in the District Handbook to include changes in the 2007-2008 Medication Policy. 

 

Turner Construction and Claycomb and Associates presented an update on the construction of the new elementary school.  The Board approved the guaranteed maximum price of $12,970,000 for the new Elementary School.  The 81,430 square foot building, which includes an additional six classrooms, is below the budgeted price of $13,000,000 originally projected for a 67,905 square foot building.

 

The Board reviewed the District’s policy (DC Legal and GKG Local) concerning Criminal History Record Checks for volunteers and employees.  The Board approved a draft which further detailed the terms and procedures for the Criminal Background Checks.  This has been placed on the district’s website.

 

The Board approved the following additional business items:

  • 2007 – 2008 Interlocal Agreement between Garlinda Rush and member districts for the shared services of Regional Child Nutrition Trainer
  • Resolution recognizing Hunt County Texas 4-H organization to be approved as eligible for extracurricular status
  • $200.00 stipend for the Elementary and Middle School Student Council sponsors
  • Pinnacle Arbitrage Rebate Compliance LLC to provide arbitrage rebate compliance services to Caddo Mills ISD
  • Utility Easement and Right of Way on land donated by Bezomqud Properties
  • Renewal of Griffin Communication agreement to provide Caddo Mills ISD’s security system.
