BOARD HIGHLIGHTS

The Board recognized outstanding students for the first 9 weeks.  Students were introduced by the principals and presented with certificates of achievement.

 

The Board approved Campus Policy Procedures for Visitors.  The policy requires that all visitors sign in, show a picture ID and receive a visitor badge.  Visitors will be required to leave a picture ID or car keys with the school secretary or receptionist.  ID’s or keys will be returned to the visitors as they sign out of the building.  Also included in the policy were campus visitor procedures for special events.

 

The High School Assistant Principal presented to the Board information about the new Peer Mediation and Mentoring Program being implemented at the High School.  The program trains teams of students to serve as role models and “neutral third parties” to provide mediation services for students who lack the skills to successfully resolve conflicts.  The program is designed to improve the school environment by reducing conflict, reducing discipline referrals and increasing academic performance.

 

Representatives from Linebarger Goggan Blair & Sampson, LLP presented the annual Delinquent Ad Valorem Tax Collection Performance Report.  The report recapped the 2006 – 2007 delinquent tax collection cycle and highlighted results of the most recent two months.

 

The Board approved the following additional items:

 

 

A Public Meeting was held to discuss the Caddo Mills ISD Schools FIRST Rating.  The district’s financial management rating which is provided by TEA is based on 21 indicators designed to assess the district’s financial accountability.  Caddo Mills ISD received a rating of “Superior Achievement” the highest rating awarded under the Texas Schools FIRST accountability system

 

Caddo Mills ISD wishes to thank the Elementary School PTO for its generous gifts of $2000 for Elementary School instructional supplies and $200 for Elementary School physical education supplies.  We would also like to thank the Booster club for its generous gift of $676.95 to the High School Cheerleaders.
