BOARD HIGHLIGHTS

The Caddo Mills ISD held a regular scheduled Board Meeting on Monday, March 24, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. in the Administration Building.  Lacy Mills, FCCLA teacher, brought three of her students to present a program they were to deliver at Galveston at the State Convention. 

 

The Board approved the transfer of an employee’s son to attend the high school.

 

Under the Business Items the Board approved the Interquest Detection Canines of North Texas for the 2008-2009 school year.  Water line easements for Parcel 1, Parcel 2, High School Parcel and Lee Elementary Parcel were also approved.  Rutherford, Taylor and Company, P.C. was also approved for the 2008 Audit.

 

Nathan Morgan from Claycomb and Associates presented an update on all construction.  New pictures are available on the Caddo Mills ISD website.

 

Crystal Dodson requested a transfer from the Middle School to the Elementary School.  She would be teaching 5th grade Science and Health at the new Kathryn Griffis Elementary School.

 

The Board accepted Elena Minot’s resignation.  She teaches High School Spanish.

 

Board also approved three positions at the new Kathryn Griffis Elementary School for the 2008-2009 school year.  Christi Crow will be the school nurse.  Linda Black will be the Reading Specialist and Rachel Traylor will be the Counselor.  

 

Probationary and Term Contracts were approved for the existing teachers, counselors and nurse.

 

A reminder was given to everyone that on May 10, 2008 there will be a School Board Election.  There are five candidates running for two(2) three year terms.

 

Caddo Mills ISD would like to thank the Caddo Mills Booster Club for the generous gifts to the following High School Girls Athletic organizations:

$384.95           H.S. Girls Basketball

$598.50           H.S. Girls Basketball

$226.50           H.S. Girls Softball

 

The Caddo Mills ISD would like to take this opportunity to let the citizens know that Kathryn Griffis made a contribution to the new Kathryn Griffis Elementary School before her death.

Mrs. Griffis was a very special lady in this community and will be greatly missed.   We feel so privileged that her name will be remembered always in the new Kathryn Griffis Elementary School.
