A. CMES 3rd – 5th grade students will achieve proficient levels in reading, math, writing and science as measured and disaggregated required subgroups (to include LEP and migrant students) by TAKS

 

CMES will meet or exceed the target goals set forth in the TEA Accountability system for the benchmark TAKS year for all student groups. (passing rate set by state)

 

Teachers will identify students requiring specific TAKS remediation and provide a minimum of 45 min. per week per tested area.

 

 

CMES will continue the ESL pull-out program in Grades PK – 5. ESL program and objectives will be modified as needed, and ESL teachers will be recruited according to campus needs. 

 

 

B. CMES will raise literacy and independent reading levels in Grades K-3 (to include Title 1 students to assure adequate yearly progress)

 

Teachers and administration will work to encourage and develop students’ love of independent reading.

 

Gifted and Talented students will be provided appropriate and challenging enrichment instruction. (Grades 1-5)

 

C. CMES will raise awareness and functional math and science levels in grades K-5 (to include Title 1) students to assure adequate yearly progress.

A. CMES is committed to complying with the 22 to 1 student/teacher ratio in grades K-5 and providing reading assistance and remediation to identified students.

 

CMES will provide a reading improvement component for students as recommended by classroom teachers.

 

Approximately 50 minutes of specialized Reading instruction will be provided each day for students identified as dyslexic.

A.     CMES will utilize a pre-referral process for students considered for the special education program, and identification of economically disadvantaged, 504, and at-risk students.

 

Administration and staff will coordinate and collaborate with Tri-County Sp. Ed. Cooperative to ensure that a process for pre-referral is appropriately developed to meet the needs of all students.

 

A Care Team meeting will be held before each referral may be made to the Tri-County Cooperative.

 

B.     CMES students will receive services for identified handicapping needs in compliance with State and Federal Guidelines.

 

Administration and staff will ensure that students will be able to receive appropriate special services in the least restrictive environment.

 

Students who qualify for Special Education will have opportunities to attend regular classes with content mastery as a service delivery option.
