This plan has been developed through the collaborative efforts of campus stakeholders and will be monitored periodically for effectiveness according to a schedule and system established by the campus improvement committee.

A. CMES 3rd – 6th grade students will achieve proficient levels in reading and math as measured and disaggregated required subgroups (to include LEP and migrant students) by the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS)

 

CMES will meet or exceed the target goals set forth in the TEA Accountability system for the benchmark TAKS year for all student groups. (passing rate set by state)

 

Teachers will identify students requiring specific TAKS remediation and provide a minimum of 45 min. per week per tested area.

 

CMES will continue the ESL pull-out program in Grades PK – 6. ESL program and objectives will be modified as needed, and ESL teachers will be recruited.  

 

B. CMES will raise literacy and independent reading levels in Grades K-6 (to include Title 1 students to assure adequate yearly progress)

 

Teachers and administration will work to encourage and develop students’ love of independent reading.

 

 

Gifted and Talented students will be provided appropriate and challenging enrichment instruction.

 

C. CMES will raise awareness and functional math levels in grades K-6 (to include Title 1) students to assure adequate yearly progress.

 

Teachers will continue to implement the Renaissance STAR Math Programs in grades 3-6.

A. CMES will increase student academic achievement through improving teacher quality and by increasing the number of highly qualified teachers in classrooms.

A. CMES will foster and develop avenues for parents and other members of the community to become involved in the basic mission of the school in order to improve school, parent, and community relations.

A.     CMES will utilize a pre-referral process for students considered for the special education program, and identification of economically disadvantaged, 504, and at-risk students.

 

 

Administration and staff will coordinate and collaborate with Tri-County Sp. Ed. Cooperative to ensure that a process for pre-referral is appropriately developed to meet the needs of all students.

 

A Care Team meeting will be held before each referral may be made.

 

B.     CMES students will receive services for every identified handicapping need in compliance with State and Federal Guidelines.
