CMES 3rd – 6th
grade students will achieve proficient levels in reading and math as measured
and disaggregated required subgroups (to include LEP and migrant students) by
the CMES will meet or exceed the target goals set forth in the TEA Accountability system for the benchmark TAKS year for all student groups. (passing rate set by state) Teachers will identify
students requiring specific TAKS remediation and provide a minimum of 45 min.

A. CMES will
increase student academic achievement through improving teacher quality and
by increasing the number of highly qualified teachers in classrooms. CMES will show an annual increase in the percentage of highly qualified teachers on the campus in order to ensure that all instructors teaching in core academic subjects are highly qualified.

through improving paraprofessional quality. Staff will have completed at least 2 years of study at an institution of higher learning, or will have obtained an associate’s degree, or will have met a rigorous

A. CMES is committed to reducing the size of K-4
and to providing reading assistance and remediation to identified students. CMES will provide a reading improvement component for students as recommended by classroom teachers. 55 minutes of instruction in the Ortan-Gilliham based reading program will be provided for students identified as dyslexic.
B.
CMES is committed to supporting the original goal
of former Governor Bush (NCLB) in that all students should be able to read on
grade level or higher by the end of the third grade and continue to read on

A.
CMES will utilize a pre-referral process for
students considered for the special education program, and identification of economically
disadvantaged, 504, and at-risk students. Administration and staff will coordinate and collaborate with Tri-County Sp. Ed. Cooperative to ensure that a process for pre-referral is appropriately developed to meet the needs of all students. A Care Team meeting will be held before each referral may be made.
B.
CMES students will receive services for every
identified handicapping need in compliance with State and Federal Guidelines. Administration and staff will ensure that students will be able to receive appropriate special services in the least restrictive environment. Students who qualify for Special Education will have opportunities to take regular classes with content mastery as a service delivery option. |
