Clinic Rules

Reasons to go home from school

1. Fever over 100 degrees.

2. Vomiting (this must be witnessed by your teacher or someone he/she sends to witness it).

3. Diarrhea

4. Serious injury that occurs at school.

Reasons to come to the clinic

1. Stomachache, only if you have diarrhea or vomiting.

2. Unbearable headache (Affecting your ability to do your work).

a. If it is before 2:00 , I will try to call a parent for Tylenol,

b. If it is after 2:00 or there is no one home, you will be allowed to lie down in the clinic for 10 minutes. (If the clinic isn’t full).

3. Large injury involving blood, i.e. Nose bleeds, scraped body parts…

a. Small injuries can be cleaned in the bathroom, and your

teacher has bandaids.

4.Injuries that your teacher thinks are serious, with pain and

swelling that occur at school .

5. ALL head injuries

6.Rashes.

7.Head lice checks

Frequent visits to the clinic

1.If you come to the clinic a lot, and I can’t find any reason to send

you home:

a. I will talk to you about it. If you keep coming:

b. I will call and talk to your parents. If you keep coming:

c. I will refer you to the counselor or principal. If you keep coming:

d. You could be banned from the clinic completely.

Reasons to stay at school

1. You can’t pass if you aren’t here.

2. It is the law. Your parents can be fined for you missing school.

3. You may have to make up missed days in summer school.

4. Your teacher and friends will miss you.

5. You could be retained in the same grade.

I CAN’T DO ANYTHING FOR OLD INJURIES OR ILLNESSES WITHOUT A DOCTORS NOTE. IF YOU STILL HURT OR FEEL SICK, TELL YOUR PARENTS!!!
